The Anacortes Ferry is a daily ferry service between Anacortes, Lopez Island, Shaw Island, Orcas Island and Friday Harbor (San Juan Island). The route is operated by the Washington State Ferries, a division of the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).

Anacortes Ferry Overview
Anacortes, WA is a city on Fidalgo Island in Skagit County. It is the starting point for one of Washington’s most popular ferry routes, the Anacortes – San Juan Islands ferry.
Tickets are available for purchase for passengers traveling on foot, with a bicycle or with a vehicle. Fares for walk-on passengers ranges from free for children 18 and under to $15.85 for adults. Getting To The Anacortes Ferry
By Car
- From Interstate 5 take exit 230
- Follow SR 20 westbound to Anacortes
- Continue north on Commercial Ave
- Turn left on 12th St, which becomes Oakes Ave
- Continue on Oakes Ave to the ferry terminal
By Public Transportation
The Anacortes ferry dock is served by Route 410, operated by Skagit Transit.
From the Sea-Tac Airport
The following two shuttles offer transportation from Sea-Tac Airport to the Anacortes ferry.

Bellair Airporter offers daily shuttle service from Sea-Tac Airport to the Anacortes ferry terminal at the following times:

A prepaid 24-hour advance reservation is required if you want to take the Bellair shuttle from Sea-Tac to the ferry.
The Bellair Airporter shuttle does not operate on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Easter.
Island Airporter
Island Airporter offers a weekday shuttle from Sea-Tac Airport to Anacortes ferry dock. It costs $70 and departs at 11:05 AM to catch the 2:00 PM sailing from Anacortes to Friday Harbor.
Taking Vehicles On The Anacortes Ferry
Anacortes ferry reservations are available for passengers traveling with a vehicle. While reservations are not required to take your vehicle on the ferry, it is highly recommended that you make one due to limited stand-by spaces on all sailings. Walk-on passengers and passengers traveling with bicycles do not need to make reservations.
Making A Vehicle Reservation
There are two ways to make vehicle reservations.
- Create a Save a Spot vehicle reservation account to manage your ferry vehicle reservations.
- Make a vehicle reservation as a guest. After choosing your route, travel date and vehicle details, you’ll be able to see available spaces on your chosen route. After making your selection, you will have 30 minutes to claim your reservation.
Commercial vehicles are required to have an active Wave2Go Executive Reservation Account.
Changing Or Canceling Your Vehicle Reservation
It is possible to change or cancel your vehicle reservation online. If you have a Save a Spot account, you can manage your reservation there. If you made a reservation as a guest, you will need to provide your last name and confirmation number to cancel or change your vehicle reservation.
Changes or cancellations need to be made before 5:00 PM PT the day prior to travel.
Passengers that do not show up or fail to cancel their reservation prior to the deadline will be charged a no-show fee.
Vehicle Reservation Requirements
Passengers with vehicle reservations are required to arrive 45-60 minutes in advance of your reserved sailing time. Upon arrival, check-in at a tollbooth or with an attendant by presenting your printed or mobile barcode from your confirmation email or your reservation confirmation number. You must check-in no less than 30 minutes prior to your reservation. Failure to check-in on time will result in losing your reserved space and you will be required to travel standby.

Is the Anacortes to Sidney ferry running?
No. The international ferry service between Anacortes and Sidney, B.C. is currently suspended due to crewing and vessel availability challenges. Service is not anticipated to be restored until Spring of 2030.
