Ana/SJs: Coming in 2027: Terminal closures during transfer span construction
In early 2027, we’ll replace the major mechanical and electrical systems of the vehicle transfer span at our Anacortes, Lopez, and Orcas terminals. The transfer span is the part of the terminal dock that raises and lowers to meet the ferry to allow vehicles to drive on and off.
What to expect in early 2027 during terminal construction
Anacortes single slip operations, Monday–Friday, Feb. 22–26
Orcas Island 48-hour closure, Tuesday and Wednesday, March 9–10
Lopez Island 48-hour closure, Tuesday and Wednesday, March 16–17
Ferries will run on their regular schedules but will not stop at Orcas or Lopez during the closure dates. Vehicle reservations will not be available for Orcas and Lopez sailings on the days those terminals are closed. We do not expect Anacortes reservations to be impacted.

Vehicle reservations for the winter sailing season open Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 10am
Vehicle reservations for the winter sailing season (Dec. 27 through March 20, 2027) will be available at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27. To ensure a smooth and fair experience during this high-demand period, we will continue using a virtual waiting room during the reservations release.
Anacortes/San Juan Islands route:
Some days in February and March 2027 will not be available to book reservations for Orcas and Lopez due to construction on the vehicle transfer span at several terminals.
The two-week and two-day reservation releases will remain at 7 a.m.
Reservations are currently open for booking through December 26, 2026.

Getting To The Anacortes Ferry
By Car
- From Interstate 5 take exit 230
- Follow SR 20 westbound to Anacortes
- Continue north on Commercial Ave
- Turn left on 12th St, which becomes Oakes Ave
- Continue on Oakes Ave to the ferry terminal
By Public Transportation
The Anacortes ferry dock is served by Route 410, operated by Skagit Transit.
From the Sea-Tac Airport
The Bellair Airporter shuttle offers transportation from Sea-Tac Airport to the Anacortes ferry.

Bellair Airporter offers daily shuttle service from Sea-Tac Airport to the Anacortes ferry terminal at the following times:

A prepaid 24-hour advance reservation is required if you want to take the Bellair shuttle from Sea-Tac to the ferry.

Taking Vehicles On The Anacortes Ferry
Anacortes ferry reservations are available for vehicle passengers. Although not required, reservations are highly recommended due to limited standby spaces on all sailings. Walk-on passengers and bicyclists do not need reservations.
Making A Vehicle Reservation
There are two ways to make vehicle reservations.
- Create a Save a Spot vehicle reservation account to manage your ferry vehicle reservations.
- Make a vehicle reservation as a guest. After choosing your route, travel date and vehicle details, you’ll be able to see available spaces on your chosen route. After making your selection, you will have 30 minutes to claim your reservation.
Commercial vehicles are required to have an active Wave2Go Executive Reservation Account.
Changing Or Canceling Your Vehicle Reservation
You can change or cancel your vehicle reservation online. Save a Spot account holders can manage reservations directly through their account. Guest users must provide their last name and confirmation number. Changes or cancellations must be completed by 5:00 PM PT the day before travel. No-show passengers will incur a no-show fee.
Vehicle Reservation Requirements
Passengers with vehicle reservations must arrive 45–60 minutes before their reserved sailing time. At arrival, check in at a tollbooth or with an attendant using a printed or mobile barcode or your reservation confirmation number. Check-in is required at least 30 minutes before your reservation. Late arrivals forfeit reserved spaces and must travel standby.
